Missouri point guard Terrence Phillips has been removed from the team, the school announced on Tuesday.

Phillips was indefinitely suspended in January as a result of an investigation against him by the university’s Title IX office — after four women alleged physical abuse and a non-consensual recording of a sexual encounter.

Phillips, a two-year starter, became a bench player in his junior season under new coach Cuonzo Martin and a highly rated class of freshmen. He averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 assists a game in his career at Missouri.

The Tigers were once on the NCAA tournament bubble, but have gradually slid off and are comfortably in the projected bracketology field right now. Missouri hosts Ole Miss on Tuesday for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off.
