The San Diego Padres and right-hander Jhoulys Chacin agreed to a one-year contract Saturday, according to multiple reports.
Financial details weren’t immediately released. Chacin still must pass a physical to make the deal official.
Chacin, who turns 29 next month, went 6-8 with a 4.81 ERA last season while splitting the season between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Angels.
Chacin is 46-57 with a 3.94 ERA in 163 appearances (135 starts) spanning eight major league season.
His best season was 2013 when he went 14-10 with a 3.47 ERA for the Colorado Rockies.
Chacin pitched for Colorado from 2009 to 2014. He spent time with Arizona in 2015.
